Louise O’Sullivan is responsible for the operations of Groupe Renault’s 155-strong UK dealer network, overseeing everything from new car sales to part sales, customer experience and network quality having been promoted to the role in 2019. Prior to this she was head of the Dacia brand for the UK, Ireland, Cyprus and Malta and was part of the brand’s successful launch in the UK. Louise has spent 25 years with the wider Groupe, joining from Lancaster University in 1995 on a graduate scheme having completed a degree in marketing and French.

Also, from Renault UK, is Lucy Jones. As HR Director she is responsible for personnel across all of Groupe Renault’s brands in the UK and Ireland. In her time as a member of the board of directors since 2018, Lucy has provided key input to elements such as the businesses’ HR agenda, organisational design and people development. In those two years this has resulted in doubling the retention of staff as well as increasing the conversion rate by 70 per cent for interns returning as graduates plus launching the Renault Mentoring Programme, to enhance visibility of key talents and pairings across departments and seniority levels.

Featuring in the listing from the Design category is Julia MacFarlane. Based at Renault’s Global design studio close to Paris, she is the Lead Designer for colours and materials and has worked within Renault for 14 years. During her time at Renault she has worked on a number of key models including the Alpine A110 and most recently the All-New Captur, helping to deliver a more premium cabin in the award-winning SUV.

Alice Altemaire is the CEO for the UK arm of Renault’s bank. RCI Bank UK provides financial services to customers and dealers across Renault, Dacia, Alpine and Nissan. Alice has been with Renault for 15 years and was instrumental as Chief Financial Officer when the UK arm of the bank was launched in 2015 and has worked on a number of initiatives which have helped revolutionise the business model and deliver best value for customers.

Finally, Elina Karppinen, has been recognised for her work as Group Marketing Director, having been with the company for more than 20 years working across different areas and roles. Her first in the UK, having left Finland, was as sales manager at Renault’s West London retailer. After further roles at other dealers, she moved to marketing and was made director in 2014. In that time Elina has helped shape online programmes such as Renault’s Virtual Showroom as well as helping shift the focus to data-led insights for web design and marketing campaigns.

A BALANCED WORKFORCE

Groupe Renault has been committed to bringing greater gender balance across its entire business and all roles, believing that strengthening the gender diversity delivers strong performance, innovation and motivation.

Renault launched its Woman@Renault 10 years ago and has resulted in the number of women now accounting for 24.5 per cent of Groupe Renault employees at the end of 2019, which is up from 10 per cent in 1999. The figure represents a high proportion for the automobile industry and the scheme continues to strengthen and promote the growth of diversity throughout the business.
