Renault 4CV - 1947

Renault 4CV

Despite the occupation in France during its conception, the Renault 4CV was ready for sale by October 1947. The rear engine design received a four-cylinder in-line engine with a three-speed gearbox, independent suspension and was very different to any other previous Renault. A number of sporting versions appeared in the early 1950s and in 1952, mid-engined racing 4CVs were entered into the Mille Miglia and Le Mans.
