The Renault Zo was shown at the 1998 Geneva Motor Show, based on the Renault Spider roadster platform.
One of the defining features of the Zo was its layout. The driver sat in a central position and on either side, placed further back were two passenger seats.
The styling of the Zo was characterised by the lattice frame work down the sides, and twin roll-over hoops. The Zo was not equipped with a windscreen, instead a small deflector was fitted just ahead of the passenger compartment. Unusual beetle-wing doors swung forward and upward.
The Zo was also equipped with adjustable ride height pneumatic suspension. Powering the car was a 2-litre 4-cylinder engine which developed 135hp.
